YANN VERHEYE ASALDE
Specialist in Civil, Property, Real Estate, Administrative Litigation, and Dispute Resolution Law
Yann Verheye is a distinctive lawyer who breaks away from the traditional mold of his generation. Despite achieving undeniable success in his postgraduate studies, with master’s degrees in Constitutional Law and Human Rights and a PhD in Law and Political Science, he has maintained a strong self-taught spirit throughout his two decades of professional experience.
He explores and researches areas of law outside his usual practice, regardless of how distant they may seem. He firmly believes that the combination of emotional intelligence, anthropology, and technology can enhance the practice of law, simplifying and streamlining the lives of both companies and individuals.
Throughout his career, Yann has developed a strong specialization in Civil Law—including Property and Succession Law—areas in which he applies a technical, strategic, and thoughtful approach. His practice combines legal expertise with an empathetic understanding of human and business relationships, enabling him to engage in complex corporate processes—such as contractual advisory, corporate reorganizations, debt recovery, and estate planning—as well as in the resolution of inheritance disputes and mediation in patrimonial matters.
His specialized training in Corporate Law, Cybersecurity, and Legal Project Management allows him to address modern legal challenges with a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective. He was also appointed as Deputy Prosecutor at the Superior Civil Prosecutor’s Office of Lima, where he strengthened his expertise in Administrative Law through the issuance of legal opinions in administrative litigation proceedings.
He seeks not only to resolve conflicts, but to create sustainable, practical, and human-centered solutions. Throughout his career, he served as a commissioner for the Ombudsman’s Office, handling human rights and domestic violence cases, an experience that allowed him to deepen his expertise in Family Law. In this field, he also holds credentials as an Extrajudicial Conciliator specialized in Family Law, addressing cases such as separations, custody, and division of assets with professionalism and empathy.
Outside his professional life, perhaps influenced by the impact of terrorism in his environment, he is drawn to high-risk activities, both within and beyond his career. He practices mountaineering, extreme photography, and adventure sports, combining this passion with years dedicated to teaching. Yann is, without a doubt, a lawyer who embraces great challenges—many of which he sets for himself.

INTERVIEW
Why did you decide to study law?
Deciding to study law was a process. I was drawn to the idea of spending long hours reading and sharing the knowledge I gained with my peers.
My decision was solidified when I understood the need to have life tools that would allow me to exercise and safeguard my freedom, within the economic possibilities my family could offer to support my education.
What is your social commitment as a lawyer?
My social commitment as a lawyer aligns with my personal commitment as an individual and to myself; it translates into fostering awareness and coherence between the social impact of actions and the assumption of individual responsibility.
On a personal level, do you consider yourself someone who seeks to mediate in a conflict or discussion?
I consider myself more of a conflict resolver than a mediator, as my experiences have taught me to prevent potential conflicts through the early identification and analysis of opposing perceptions or circumstances.
What would you say to people who distrust lawyers?
I would tell them that trust is earned, reputation is not proclaimed, and the results sought depend on their own interests.
Distrust in any professional, regardless of the field, begins the moment relevant information for resolving a problem is withheld.
